April Wrap Up || The Shortest Month Ever, ft. Reading… but mostly TV watching?!

Hello my fellow bookish lovers! How are we feeling now that another month has come to a close? I personally am feeling like my TBR is getting even closer to its goal of killing me and haunting me from the grave (casual).

That being said this month literally blew by at an amazingly unnatural speed and I was not prepared. Seriously, I thought I would have more time than this, this is not ok.

Amazingly (despite it all) I did some reading?!? (Ik we are all surprised I was able to accomplish something – most of all me) I read (6) books this month! *sitcom laugh track* *Audience clapping*

I must admit I’ve been in a bit of a slump… and only read a couple YA reads (and A LOT of romance ;)) So if you have any good YA or Fantasy books to recommend please do!!

What I Read:

Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles (4 stars) – This was a solid YA read for me! I am obssed with the #villian vibes I got from Jack here, and the #softythief vibes I got from Aaros! I’m excited to see what Kallia is up to in the second book after that dangerous af cliff hanger! (heres my review)

To Catch An Earl by Kate Bateman (5 stars ) – Ahh omg this one was so fun! A jewel thief is being hunted down by an elite detective and the banter and swoon is just ughh I did not even notice the time going by reading this one!! #trashforthisbook #ineedmore (oh and heres my review πŸ˜‰ )

Off The Ice by Julie Cross (4.5 stars) – omg this was the soft blanket I need in my life. The characters have a very real quality to them, and I love how you feel like you can relate and empathize to their struggles. I love how supportive both the love interests are of one another in this one. This was a cute small town, friends to lovers! I needed this (I also need the other books in this series…)

The Irresistible Attraction Series by Willow Winters (4 stars overall) – This was SO addictive!! While these books got a little TOO crazy and over the top for me I could not help but be sucked in (also just warning EVERY book in this ends w a cliff hanger *gasps*) but even though it was all very toxic and messy I could not help routing for the couple, and Jace intrigued me πŸ˜‰

TV Shows I watched:

Outer Banks (season 1) – Ok, ok, ok y’all we need to have a chat and it involves you picking up your tv remote– clicking open Netflix– and watching this show bc this show is GOOOOD. Safe to say it its now my new tv obsession and I now have two new TV boyfriends by the name of JJ and John B (you’ll thank me after you start watching ;))

The Voice (season 16) – I’m excited for this show to finally go to the lives! I really enjoyed watching the Knockout rounds and already have my fav singers…

Posts from around the blogosphere:

Veronika @WordyandWhimsical – Talks about her favorite sunshine characters and grumpy character pairings and honestly I love it when a nice little character softens up a grouchy grey morally skewed character and this post is filled w them!!

@AddictedtoRomace – Gives us to detailed guide/list of all the romance reads you need in your life that were related on April 28th and honestly I think it might have made my TBR explode.

Sophie @BewareofTheReader – Talks about series she would love to read/ start BUT she has yet too bc of how longgg each series is and how they are all basically time gobbling machines.

Angelica @TheBookCoverGirl – Discusses series she needs to finish you know… before the end of the world?! and this list has some really great series to binge!!

@TheBookishChick – Re-reads one of my favorite series A Court of Thorns and Roses by SJM and talks about how her opinion has changed over time (especially thoughts on Tamilin…)

My May TBR:

What are you guys reading? How was your April? How much reading did you cram in? Also what’s on y’all TBRs?? Talk to me in the comments below!

  2. I read the first Bow Street Bachelors novel, and I wasn’t very impressed, but To Catch an Earl does sound good, after reading your review, I’m adding it to my tbr. πŸ˜€ I’ve owned The Enchanted for years, and I should really get to it one of these days. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Heiress for Hire sounds incredible, I’ve also added that to my to-read list. Thank you for highlighting my post, I’m happy you enjoyed it. πŸ˜€ Hope your May is going well! πŸ™‚

    1. Where Dreams Descend was fairly good! I really liked it! (plus that cover = to die for) and I haven’t heard of A Dark and Stormy Knight and Shielded?! I’ll have to check it out, thanks for stopping by πŸ™‚

      1. I finished Shielded. It was pretty good – typical young adult fantasy. A Dark and Stormy Knight is historical romance. I also started The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea and am loving it! πŸ™‚

      1. Yes, Ozark is on Netflix. It’s a bit dark and gritty at times, but I just love Jason Bateman in it, and those twist and turns are far from boring. πŸ˜€
